One of the perks of living in a post-dot-com-bubble world is that you can buy $10,000 worth of niche computer hardware relatively cheap. One will be placed on each of MindSay's two network connections. We buy two of everything. In case one stops working, the other will save us from going down.
Could you imagine buying another car to have just in case your main vehicle stopped working? That's how I feel. Especially sucks when the most important servers are the most expensive.
On a related note... we had two coffee grinders when Adam was renting a room. Having a fault-tolerant coffee supply is a good thing.
